World’s largest alpona drawn with Banglalink, Berger, Asiatic's support
Country's largest Alpona festival, titled 'Alponay Boishakh 1431,' has brought the essence of Bengali culture to life with vibrant strokes of colour and artistry.
Asiatic Experiential Marketing Limited, Banglalink Digital Communications Limited, and Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited jointly organised the festival.
Dr. Shireen Sharmin Chowdhury, the speaker of the parliament, inaugurated the country-wide celebration on Saturday (April 13) at Dhaka's Manik Mia Avenue. State Minister for Culture Nahid Izahar Khan was present as a special guest.
A 14-km road in the Haor region in Kishoreganj has been painted on the occasion of Pohela Boishakh in an attempt to set a world record.
State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak graced the occasion as the Chief Guest of Honour. He said, "The celebration of the Bengali spirit has regained its familiar form as the Alpona Festival of Pahela Boishakh returns after a hiatus due to Covid-19. I wish the organizers all the best and hope that they can organize such events in the future to bring joy to the people of the country."
Taimur Rahman, Chief Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Officer said, "Banglalink is deeply responsible for celebrating the cultural heritage and diverse festivals of Bangladesh. Pahela Boishakh, the biggest cultural festival of the country, is the most important among all these festivals. This event by Banglalink is an attempt to showcase the culture and native festivals of Bangladesh to the future generations."
