English Medium Schools to close from Monday

The government has decided to temporarily close classes in foreign curriculum (English medium) schools operating in various cities of the country, including Dhaka, to reduce public suffering during the month of Ramadan.

Regular classes in these schools will be closed from tomorrow, until the government-declared holiday on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr on Monday (March 9).

This information was given in an order from the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education on Sunday (March 8).

The order said that in order to alleviate public suffering in various cities including Dhaka during the month of Ramadan and considering the current global situation, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Education Minister with representatives of foreign curriculum schools.

It was unanimously decided in that meeting that regular classes will be closed from Monday (March 9) until the government-declared holiday on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

However, it has been informed that the mandatory exams will be held as per the scheduled schedule. At the same time, it has been decided to close all types of coaching centers, including Bengali and English medium ones.
