EU delegation meets Prime Minister

A delegation of the European Union (EU) led by Ambassador to Dhaka Michael Miller paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Prime Minister's Office in the Bangladesh Secretariat on Monday, April 6.

Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary Zahidul Islam Rony confirmed the matter.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has emphasised strengthening relations with European Union (EU) countries, his Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir has said.

Humayun Kabir said, "The EU has congratulated Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on BNP's victory in the free and fair 13th National Parliamentary Election. The meeting focused on further strengthening Bangladesh's relations with European countries."

PM's Office Spokesperson and Adviser Mahdi Amin said that member states commended Bangladesh for holding a free and fair election during an ILO meeting.

He also said the ILO Director General is scheduled to visit Bangladesh in June.
