Dr. ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon, Minister of Education and Primary and Mass Education, has stated that examination center authorities will be held responsible if cheating materials are found in toilets. To prevent cheating, motivational meetings will be organized across various districts nationwide.

The minister made the remarks during a meeting at 10am, which reviewed preparations for the SSC and equivalent examinations to ensure they are conducted fairly, transparently, and on schedule on Tuesday (March 3). The meeting was attended by all education board chairpersons and senior officials from the Ministry of Education at the ministry’s conference hall.

Dr. Milon presided as the chief guest, while Bobby Hajjaj, State Minister for Education and Primary and Mass Education, attended as a special guest.

During the meeting, the minister reviewed overall preparations for the SSC and equivalent exams, instructed re-inspections of high-risk centers, and directed the creation of updated lists. Emphasizing a strict stance against any form of misconduct or cheating, he said necessary laws will be enacted to prevent cheating via digital devices.

The minister also instructed that body checks be properly conducted when students enter exam centers and that teachers actively participate in strengthening anti-cheating measures. He added that anyone found uploading exam questions or related content on social media or online platforms during the exams will face legal action.

Highlighting the importance of merit-based education, Dr. Milon stressed the need to reform the exam system, stating that auto-pass will no longer be allowed. He also called for moving away from awarding average marks in practical exams and focusing on genuine assessment.

The minister outlined plans to establish district schools in areas where none currently exist. These schools will offer education from grade one through twelve, following a higher secondary model, to strengthen and better integrate the country’s education system.
