Former army officer Masud Uddin Chowdhury has been shown arrested and produced before court in a human trafficking case filed at Paltan Police Station in the capital. The matter was confirmed by the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police. DB Additional Commissioner Shafiqul Islam disclosed this information at a press conference organised at the DMP Media Centre on Tuesday, March 24. He said Masud Uddin Chowdhury was arrested from the capital's Baridhara area late on Monday night. He has been initially shown arrested in a case at Paltan Police Station and sent to court. According to DB, a total of 11 cases are pending against him – six in Feni district and five in Dhaka metropolitan area.

সাবেক সেনা কর্মকর্তা মাসুদ উদ্দিন চৌধুরীকে রাজধানীর পল্টন থানার একটি মানবপাচার মামলায় গ্রেপ্তার দেখিয়ে আদালতে পাঠানো হয়েছে। বিষয়টি জানিয়েছে ঢাকা মহানগর পুলিশ (ডিএমপি)–এর গোয়েন্দা বিভাগ (ডিবি)। মঙ্গলবার ডিএমপির মিডিয়া সেন্টারে আয়োজিত এক সংবাদ সম্মেলনে এ তথ্য জানান ডিবির অতিরিক্ত কমিশনার শফিকুল ইসলাম। তিনি বলেন, সোমবার দিবাগত রাতে রাজধানীর বারিধারা এলাকা থেকে মাসুদ উদ্দিন চৌধুরীকে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়। প্রাথমিকভাবে তাকে পল্টন থানার একটি মামলায় গ্রেপ্তার দেখিয়ে আদালতে পাঠানো হয়েছে। ডিবির তথ্য অনুযায়ী, তার বিরুদ্ধে ফেনী জেলায় ৬টি এবং ঢাকা মহানগর এলাকায় ৫টিসহ মোট ১১টি মামলা রয়েছে।
