Former Chief Justice Md. Ruhul Amin has passed away. He breathed his last at 4:30 am on Sunday (November 24) while receiving treatment at the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka. The current Chief Justice, Syed Refat Ahmed, has offered his condolences. The Supreme Court Administration confirmed the matter. Md. Ruhul Amin was born on June 1, 1941, in Lakshmipur district. He became the 15th Chief Justice of Bangladesh on March 1, 2007, and retired on May 31, 2008.

সাবেক প্রধান বিচারপতি মো. রুহুল আমিন মারা গেছেন। রবিবার (২৪ নভেম্বর) ভোর সাড়ে ৪টার দিকে রাজধানীর সম্মিলিত সামরিক হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসাধীন অবস্থায় তিনি মারা যান। তার মৃত্যুতে শোক জানিয়েছেন বর্তমান প্রধান বিচারপতি সৈয়দ রেফাত আহমেদ। সুপ্রিম কোর্ট প্রশাসন থেকে এসব তথ্য নিশ্চিত করা হয়েছে। ১৯৪১ সালের ১ জুন লক্ষ্মীপুর জেলায় জন্মগ্রহণ করেন মো. রুহুল আমিন। দেশের ১৫তম প্রধান বিচারপতি হিসেবে ২০০৭ সালের ১ মার্চ যোগদান করেন তিনি। ২০০৮ সালের ৩১ মে অবসরে যান তিনি।
