Ex-CJ Khairul Haque granted bail in ACC case
Former Chief Justice (CJ) A B M Khairul Haque has been granted bail in a case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) over allegations of illegally obtaining a RAJUK plot, clearing the way for his release from jail.
A High Court bench comprising Justice Sheikh Md Zakir Hossain and Justice Md Zakir Hossain passed the bail order on Wednesday (March 11), following a petition filed by Khairul Haque.
Senior lawyer Mansurul Haque Chowdhury, Advocate Motahar Hossain Saju and Barrister Mostafizur Rahman Khan represented Khairul Haque during the hearing.
The ACC filed the case in August 2025, accusing the former chief justice of acquiring a RAJUK residential plot in violation of regulations.
Earlier on March 4, the High Court granted Khairul Haque bail in four other cases, including one related to the killing of a Jubo Dal activist during the July movement and alleged forgery of the caretaker government verdict.
Khairul Haque was arrested by police from his Dhanmondi residence in Dhaka on July 24, 2025. He was later shown arrested in the murder case of Abdul Qaiyum Ahad, a Jubo Dal activist killed in Jatrabari during the July protests.
