Ex-defence adviser Tarique Siddique summoned by ACC

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has summoned former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's former defence adviser, Tarique Ahmed Siddique, for questioning in an investigation into corruption allegations involving the Third Terminal project of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

In a summons notice issued from the ACC head office on Tuesday, September 29, he has been asked to appear and give a statement on October 7. The notice was hung on the door of his residence in Cantonment, Baridhara.

The notice stated that former Prime Minister's military adviser Tarique Ahmed Siddique and others are accused of embezzling Tk 250 crore from the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (Third Terminal) expansion project. In the interest of a proper investigation, it is necessary to hear and record his statement on the mentioned allegations. He has been requested to appear at the ACC head office at 10am on October 7 to give a statement on the allegations.

Earlier, on July 17, 2025, the ACC filed four separate cases against deposed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's former defence adviser Tarique Ahmed Siddique, his wife and two daughters on charges of acquiring more than Tk 62 crore in illegal wealth, money laundering and unusual bank transactions.

In one case, Tarique Siddique was accused of acquiring illegal wealth worth Tk 28,58,63,232 in his name.

In another case, Tarique Ahmed Siddique's wife, Shahin Siddique, was accused of acquiring illegal wealth worth Tk 25,76,93,213.

Additionally, in the third and fourth cases, Tarique Siddique's daughters, Nurin Tasmiya Siddique and Bushra Siddique, were accused of acquiring illegal wealth worth Tk 3,37,17,192 and Tk 4,02,97,086 respectively. Tarique Siddique was also made an accused in each case.

He was also made an accused in several other corruption cases. On January 28, 2025, a travel ban was imposed on Tarique Ahmed Siddique. On April 29 of that year, a travel ban was imposed on eight people, including Tarique Ahmed Siddique's wife Shahin Siddique and two daughters Bushra Siddique and Nurin Tasmiya Siddique. Additionally, on May 14, 2025, an order was issued to freeze Tk 6,79,67,271 in 13 of their bank accounts.
