Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, a key witness in the case filed against Sheikh Hasina for crimes committed during the July uprising. In the morning, Mamun has been produced before the International Crimes Tribunal. He is scheduled to testify today against Sheikh Hasina and former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal. Mamun, who previously pleaded guilty and sought permission to disclose the truth, has been granted the status of an 'approver'—the first of its kind in the tribunal's history. His testimony follows that of nine other witnesses in the ongoing case.

জুলাই আন্দোলনের সময় সংঘটিত মানবতাবিরোধী অপরাধের অভিযোগে শেখ হাসিনার বিরুদ্ধে করা মামলায় রাজসাক্ষী পুলিশের সাবেক মহাপরিদর্শক (আইজিপি) চৌধুরী আব্দুল্লাহ আল মামুনকে আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ ট্রাইব্যুনালে হাজির করা হয়েছে। সোমবার সকালে তাকে কারাগার থেকে ট্রাইব্যুনালে আনা হয়। এ মামলায় ক্ষমতাচ্যুত প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা এবং সাবেক স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী আসাদুজ্জামান খান কামালের বিরুদ্ধে ট্রাইব্যুনাল-১ এ আজ তার সাক্ষ্যগ্রহণের কথা রয়েছে। এর আগে এই মামলায় নয়জনের সাক্ষ্যগ্রহণ সম্পন্ন হয়েছে। সাবেক আইজিপি চৌধুরী আব্দুল্লাহ আল মামুন নিজে দোষ স্বীকার করে ঘটনার সত্য বিবরণ প্রকাশের জন্য অ্যাপ্রুভার হওয়ার আবেদন করেছিলেন। ট্রাইব্যুনাল-১ তার এই আবেদন মঞ্জুর করে। আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ ট্রাইব্যুনালের ইতিহাসে তিনিই প্রথমবারের মতো আসামি হিসেবে ‘অ্যাপ্রুভার’ (রাজসাক্ষী) হলেন।
