Ex-MP Solaiman Selim granted 3-day remand in Khalid Saifullah murder case
A Dhaka court has granted former Dhaka-7 MP Md. Solaiman Selim a three-day remand in connection with the murder of Khalid Hasan Saifullah, a first-year student of Ideal College in Azimpur.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate GM Farhan Ishtiak passed the order on Monday (August 11), after the prosecution sought a seven-day remand, despite the defense's bail plea.
The investigation, led by Kotwali Zonal Team Inspector Md. Sajjad Hossain.
The case stems from the fatal shooting of Saifullah during an anti-discrimination student movement in Azimpur on July 18.
The deceased's father, Kamrul Hasan, filed a complaint with the Lalbagh police, naming 52 individuals, including Sheikh Hasina, as suspects.
Selim, who was arrested by Chawkbazar police from a house in Gulshan in November 2024, had been previously remanded in another case—Rakib Howlader's murder.
