Failing SSC scripts to undergo full re-evaluation: Education Minister

Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Haque Milan has said answer scripts of students who apply for re-scrutiny of their SSC and equivalent examination results will be fully re-evaluated, with corrective action to be taken if any errors are found.

He made the remarks on Monday (August 10) while officially announcing the 2026 SSC and equivalent examination results at the Education Ministry’s conference room in Dhaka.

The minister said students do not always achieve the results they are expected to, despite performing well in examinations. Under the previous system, he said, there was no provision for reviewing answer scripts under the 1998 board rules, but the system has now been changed.

"Students who apply for re-scrutiny will have their answer scripts fully re-examined. If any mistake or irregularity is found, necessary action will be taken," Milan said.

The announcement comes as this year’s overall pass rate fell to 62.25 percent, while 116,676 students secured GPA-5 across the country’s 11 education boards.

Earlier, chairpersons of all education boards formally handed over the examination results to the education minister before the results were released.
