The allegations of poll irregularities at Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall during the Jahangirnagar University Central Students' Union (JACSU) elections has been ruled out by its provost.

The provost said: "Voting was stopped due to allegations of indelible ink being removed. Information about fake voting is misleading. Such a thing did not happen in Hall No. 15."

The Provost gave this information in a briefing on Thursday (September 11) afternoon.

The Provost also said: "As per the rule of the girls' hall, everything has to be reported to the Provost. However, I did not know anything about what happened here. I did not even see any candidate enter the center."

She said that CCTV footage is being analyzed in the overall matter.

Earlier, the Chhatra Dal panel had raised 9 irregularities with the Election Commission. The students alleged that fake casting of vote at Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall, VP candidates were harassed, and indelible ink was used. In light of these allegations, the JCD panel boycotted the elections.
