Ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election, RAB Director General A K M Shahidur Rahman has warned that those involved in crimes such as fake voting and ballot snatching will be dealt with sternly.

Speaking at a press conference held at the Rajdhani High School ground in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Wednesday afternoon, he said, "If there is any risk in the election, it will be for those who attempt to disrupt it. The strictest measures will be taken against anyone attempting to cast fake votes, snatch ballot boxes, or instigate violence. No leniency will be shown in this regard."

The RAB DG informed that RAB has been working in the field since before the schedule announcement to ensure a fair and peaceful election. RAB teams have been deployed in all 64 districts and eight metropolitan areas across the country. Additionally, striking and mobile teams have been kept ready.

He said that in accordance with Election Commission directives, no outsider will be permitted to remain in the vicinity of polling centres beyond the stipulated time without reasonable cause. Legal action will be taken if suspicious presence or abnormal situations are detected.

Regarding vulnerable polling centres, he said forces have been deployed at both critical and general centres. RAB, Army, BGB, and Police are performing their duties in a coordinated manner. Operations are being conducted in coordination with the Returning Officers and local administration of the concerned districts. He informed that the highest number of law enforcement personnel have been deployed this time, and technological capabilities are also greater than before.

The RAB Director General also stated that there is no specific threat of militant attacks. However, he noted that the highest level of alert has been maintained and adequate measures have been put in place to maintain law and order even after the election. He expressed hope that a fair and peaceful election will be accomplished through collective efforts.
