Faruk Wasif has been appointed as the new Director General of Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB). A notification was issued in this regard from the Ministry of Public Information on Wednesday. Signed by Deputy Secretary ATM Shariful Alam, the notification reads that as per Section 9(2) of the Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB) Act, 2018, Mr Wasif is required to renounce his working relationship with other institutions and organizations from the date of joining to two years for holding the post of Director General of Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB). Other terms and conditions of this appointment shall be determined by the approved contract, the notification states.

প্রেস ইনস্টিটিউট বাংলাদেশ (পিআইবি)-এর নতুন মহাপরিচালক পদে নিয়োগ দেয়া হয়েছে ফারুক ওয়াসিফ। বুধবার (১৮ সেপ্টেম্বর) জনপ্রসাশন মন্ত্রণালয় থেকে এ সংক্রান্ত প্রজ্ঞাপন জারি করা হয়। উপসচিব এ টি এম শরিফুল আলম সাক্ষরিত প্রজ্ঞাপনে বলা হয়, প্রেস ইনস্টিটিউট বাংলাদেশ (পিআইবি) আইন, ২০১৮-এর ধারা ৯(২) অনুযায়ী জনাব ফারুক ওয়াসিফ-কে অন্যান্য প্রতিষ্ঠান ও সংগঠনের সাথে কর্ম-সম্পর্ক পরিত্যাগের শর্তে যোগদানের তারিখ থেকে পরবর্তী ০২ (দুই) বছর মেয়াদে প্রেস ইনস্টিটিউট বাংলাদেশ (পিআইবি)-এর মহাপরিচালক পদে নিয়োগ প্রদান করা হলো। এই নিয়োগের অন্যান্য শর্ত অনুমোদিত চুক্তিপত্র দ্বারা নির্ধারিত হবে বলে প্রজ্ঞাপনে উল্লেখ করা হয়।
