Faruk Wasif reappointed as PIB Director General

Journalist Faruk Wasif has been reappointed as the Director General of the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB). His reappointment was announced in a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Monday, September 14.

The notification stated that Faruk Wasif has been appointed on a contractual basis for one year under Section 9(2) of the Press Institute of Bangladesh Act, 2018. The appointment will take effect from the date of joining.

However, under the terms of the appointment, he must relinquish any other profession, business or employment relationship with any government, semi-government, private institution or organisation.

The notification further stated that other terms and conditions of the appointment will be determined through an agreement. The order of appointment was issued by order of the President in the public interest.
