Faruq Ahmed made SRB director general, four more police unit heads reshuffled

The government has appointed new heads in five units of the police. Besides, the workplaces of two more officers of additional IGP and DIG ranks have been changed. Altogether changes have been made in the responsibilities of seven officers.

This information was announced in a gazette issued from the Police-1 branch of the Home Ministry on Tuesday (November 3). Deputy Secretary of the ministry Tausif Ahmed signed the gazette under the order of the President. The gazette mentioned that this order issued in the public interest will come into effect immediately.

According to the gazette, Additional IGP Md Ahsan Habib Palash, director general of the Special Response Battalion (SRB), has been transferred as additional IGP of the Police Headquarters. Highway Police chief Additional IGP Faruq Ahmed has succeeded him.

In the same order, Additional IGP of the Police Headquarters Md Sayedur Rahman has been made additional IGP of the Highway Police. Additional IGP of the Industrial Police Gazi Jasim Uddin has been posted as additional IGP of the Police Telecom Organisation at Rajarbagh.

Meanwhile, Commissioner (DIG) of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) Md Israel Howladar has been made additional IGP of the Industrial Police after getting promotion to the rank of additional IGP.

On the other hand, DIG of Rajshahi Range Md Ashik Saeed has been transferred as commissioner (DIG) of GMP. And DIG of Railway Police Mir Ashraf Ali has been posted as DIG of Rajshahi Range.
