FBI delegation meets IGP

A delegation from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has paid a courtesy call on Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Ali Hossain Fakir. Police Headquarters confirmed the matter in a press release on Monday, August 3.

The meeting was held at Police Headquarters on Monday (August 3), with the FBI delegation led by Riley Palmertree.

During the meeting, held in a cordial atmosphere, the head of the delegation discussed enhancing Bangladesh Police's cyber capabilities, monitoring social media, combating cyber scams and financial crimes, and assisting in technology-driven investigations .

The IGP emphasised further strengthening mutual cooperation and relations between Bangladesh Police's various units, including PBI, CID, ATU and CTTC, with the FBI, and increasing FBI assistance in curbing rumours and fraud on social media.

Senior officials of Bangladesh Police were present on the occasion.
