Fencing Federation representative pays courtesy call to Bangladesh envoy in Bahrain

Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Bahrain, Md Rais Hasan Sarowar, ndc, held a courtesy meeting with Syed Riad Hossain, national referee of the Bangladesh Fencing Federation and executive member of its newly formed ad hoc committee, at the Bangladesh Embassy in Manama on Saturday.

The meeting featured a fruitful and cordial exchange of views on the overall progress and prospects of fencing in Bangladesh, its development on the international stage, and ways to enhance professionalism in the sport.

During the meeting, Ambassador Sarowar highly praised the federation’s initiatives and activities to promote the emerging sport of fencing in Bangladesh and expand its presence in the international sporting arena. He also wished Bangladeshi fencers continued success in international competitions and expressed optimism about the sport’s bright and promising future in the country.

Syed Riad Hossain briefed the ambassador in detail on the current executive committee’s short-, medium- and long-term plans to take fencing from the grassroots level to the international arena.

The meeting also discussed possible support from the Bangladesh Embassy in building international sports networks and engaging expatriate Bangladeshis with an interest in sports.
