Final candidate list for DUCSU election publsihed

Dhaka University has published the final list of candidates for the upcoming Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) Hall Parliament elections. A total of 1,035 candidates will compete for 13 positions across 18 halls of the university.

Initially, 1,109 nomination papers were submitted. However, during the verification and selection process, 73 candidates withdrew their applications, and one candidate’s nomination was canceled.

According to university officials, the final number of candidates per hall is as follows:
Dr. Muhammad Shahidullah Hall: 59, Bangladesh-Kuwait Maitree Hall: 31, Salimullah Muslim Hall: 62, Jagannath Hall: 55, Fazlul Haq Muslim Hall: 58, Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Haq Hall: 75, Rokeya Hall: 45, Surya Sen Hall: 75

Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall: 60, Shamsun Nahar Hall: 35, Kabi Jasim Uddin Hall: 68, Muktijoddha Ziaur Rahman Hall: 73, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall: 59, Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall: 36, Amar Ekushey Hall: 76, Kabi Sufia Kamal Hall: 38, Bijoy Ekattor Hall: 68 and Sir A.F. Rahman Hall: 62

The halls with the highest number of withdrawals include Dr. Muhammad Shahidullah Hall with 11 candidates stepping back, Fazlul Haq Muslim Hall and Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Haq Hall with 6 withdrawals each, and Bijoy Ekattor Hall with 9.

The elections are now set to proceed with this finalized candidate list, as the university community prepares to select their representatives for the upcoming term.
