Final day of Eid return train ticket on sale today

Railway authorities are set to sell the final phase of advance return tickets for Eid-ul-Azha travellers, with tickets for intercity train journeys scheduled for June 4 going on sale today (May 25).

According to railway authorities, ticket sales for trains operating in the western region will begin at 8:00am, while tickets for eastern region trains will be available from 2:00pm.

As part of the Eid travel management plan, all tickets will once again be sold exclusively online to ensure smoother and more transparent distribution.

Railway officials said advance ticket sales for May 31 journeys began on May 21, followed by June 1 tickets on May 22, June 2 tickets on May 23, and June 3 tickets on May 24.

Authorities also confirmed that tickets purchased under the Eid special arrangement will be non-refundable. Each passenger will be allowed to buy a maximum of four seats in a single transaction, while the names of accompanying passengers must be provided during the booking process for multiple tickets.

With millions expected to travel during the Eid holidays, Bangladesh Railway hopes the online ticketing system will help reduce overcrowding and ensure a more organised return journey for passengers across the country.
