Final decision on 133 ordinances by April 2: Law Minister

The 133 ordinances issued by the previous interim government will be sent to the National Parliament for final decision by April 2 after scrutiny, Law Minister Asaduzzaman has said.

He made the remarks while responding to journalists after the first meeting of the 13th National Parliament's special committee at the Cabinet Room of the Parliament Building on Tuesday, March 24.

The minister said, "Decisions on these ordinances will be made by harmonising the constitution and public expectations."

He said, "The special committee is working taking both the constitution and public aspirations into consideration. The ordinances will be reviewed within 30 days and placed in the current session of parliament."

On March 12, during the first session of the 13th National Parliament, Law Minister Md Asaduzzaman placed the 133 ordinances. Subsequently, based on his proposal, the ordinances were sent to the special committee.

BNP's Zainul Abedin is serving as the chairman of the special committee. Other members of the committee include Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed, Salah Uddin Ahmed, Md Nurul Islam, Md Asaduzzaman, Muhammad Osman Faruk, A M Mahbub Uddin, Abdul Bari, Muhammad Nawshad Jamir, Farazana Sharmin, Jamaat-e-Islami's Md Mojibur Rahman, Rafiqul Islam Khan and Gazi Md Nazrul Islam.
