Final voter list of local government election published, voters nearly 12.88 crore

The Election Commission (EC) has published the final voter list keeping the upcoming local government election ahead. According to the new list, the number of registered voters for casting votes in the local government election of the country is 12,87,77,643.

Senior Secretary of the EC Akhtar Ahmed published the final voter list at the Election Bhaban in Agargaon of the capital on Monday (August 31). The commission completed another important step in the preparation of organising the local government election through the publication of this list.

According to the information given by the EC, among the total voters men are 6,55,10,665. There are 6,32,65,711 women voters. Besides, the number of hijra voters is 1,267.

After the publication of the final voter list the process of organising the local government election advanced another step. Now the concerned are looking towards the declaration of the schedule of the vote and the date of voting.

In reply to questions of journalists regarding the preparation of the election Senior Secretary of the EC Akhtar Ahmed said the commission is ready for organising the election. It will be informed to the media as soon as the day and date of the vote are finalised.

Earlier the Election Commission started the necessary preparation keeping the local government election ahead. After the publication of the final voter list now the formality of declaring the schedule remains. The election activities will start more visibly as soon as the day and date of voting are declared.
