The fire at Sattola slum in capital's Mohakhali has been brought under control. Anwarul Islam Dolon, media officer of the Fire Service, confirmed the matter. The fire broke out at 2:37pm on Wednesday (August 20). Upon receiving the report, five Fire Service units rushed to the scene and brought the fire under control by 3:18pm, after about 40 minutes of effort. Three units from Tejgaon Fire Station and two from Kurmitola Fire Station joined efforts to extinguish the fire. The cause of the blaze is not yet known.

রাজধানীর মহাখালীর সাততলা বস্তিতে লাগা আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে এসেছে। ফায়ার সার্ভিসের মিডিয়া সেল কর্মকর্তা আনোয়ারুল ইসলাম দোলন বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন। বুধবার (২০ আগস্ট) দুপুর ২টা ৩৭ মিনিটে আগুনের সূত্রপাত। খবর পেয়ে ফায়ার সার্ভিসের পাঁচটি ইউনিট ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছে প্রায় ৪০ মিনিটের চেষ্টায় বিকেল ৩টা ১৮ মিনিটের দিকে আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে আনে। তেজগাঁও ফায়ার স্টেশনের তিনটি ও কুর্মিটোলা ফায়ার স্টেশনের দুটি ইউনিট আগুন নেভাতে কাজ করে। তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে আগুন লাগার কারণ জানা যায়নি।
