First cabinet meeting held

The first cabinet meeting of the BNP-led government was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

The new cabinet members were present at the meeting held at the Secretariat on Wednesday (February 18). The BNP, which won the 13th National Parliament election with a majority vote, formed the government.

The new cabinet has a total of 25 ministers and 24 state ministers, three of whom have been included as technocrats. The Cabinet Division issued a notification distributing their responsibilities on Tuesday (February 17). In addition to the duties of the Prime Minister, Tarique Rahman will also hold the responsibilities of the Cabinet Division, the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces Division.
