Five flights operating between Dhaka and Riyadh have been cancelled following an attack on King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital, disrupting services by several airlines.

The cancelled flights involve Biman Bangladesh Airlines, US-Bangla Airlines, Saudia and Riyadh Air, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB).

Kawser Mahmud, assistant director of CAAB’s public relations division, confirmed the cancellations on Sunday morning (October 11).

According to CAAB and international news agencies, an attack by Yemen’s Houthi rebels on the Riyadh airport on Saturday reportedly killed at least 12 people, including two Bangladeshis, and injured 309 others.

Following the incident, airport authorities temporarily suspended all operations to assess the damage and address security concerns.

The cancellations affect both outbound and return services between Dhaka and Riyadh. Further flight schedules are expected to be announced once the situation returns to normal, sources said.

Passengers travelling on the affected routes are advised to check with their respective airlines for updated schedules and further instructions.
