Five DIGs promoted to additional IG

The Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs has promoted five officials of the rank of deputy inspector general (DIG) of police to the post of additional inspector general of police (IG Grade-2), in an order issued through a notification on Sunday.

The promoted officials are Md Sayedur Rahman, director of Central Police Hospital, Rajarbagh; Md Mainul Hasan, currently in charge of additional IGP of Tourist Police; Md Israil Howlader, police commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP); Md Iqbal Hossain, DIG of the Special Branch (SB) of police; and Md Kamrul Ahsan, DIG of the Police Directorate.

The notification said the promoted officials must submit their joining letters to the senior secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs through the appropriate authority.

The notification stated that this order, issued in the public interest, will take effect from the date the respective officials join their new posts. Md Iqbal Hossain is currently serving as DIG of Dhaka Range.
