Five DIGs promoted to Additional IGP rank

The government has promoted five Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs) of Bangladesh Police to the rank of Additional Inspector General of Police (Additional IGP), according to an official notification issued on Thursday (Juny 4).

The promotion order, signed by Deputy Secretary Toufique Ahmed on behalf of the President, stated that the officers were elevated to the higher rank on administrative grounds.

The officials promoted to Additional IGP are Sylhet Range DIG Md Mushfiqur Rahman, NSI Director (DIG) Barrister Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, Chattogram Range DIG Md Moniruzzaman, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Additional Director General (Administration) Faruq Ahmed, and Dhaka Range DIG Rezaul Karim Mallik.

The notification said the officers will continue performing their existing responsibilities while discharging duties in line with their newly promoted rank.

The promotions come as part of the government's ongoing administrative restructuring within the police force and are expected to strengthen leadership at key operational and intelligence units.
