At least five dengue patients died and 1,898 others were hospitalised in the 24 hours till 8:00am today, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). Of the deaths, two were reported in Chattogram division, while one each was reported in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Khulna and Rajshahi divisions. With the latest deaths and cases, the death toll this year has risen to 376, while the total number of cases has reached 121,699. Currently, 6,190 dengue patients are undergoing treatment at hospitals across the country.

দেশে ডেঙ্গুতে আক্রান্ত হয়ে গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় আরও পাঁচজনের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। একই সময়ে ডেঙ্গু নিয়ে হাসপাতালে ভর্তি হয়েছেন ১ হাজার ৮৯৮ জন। শনিবার (২৪ অক্টোবর) স্বাস্থ্য অধিদপ্তরের প্রকাশিত সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এ তথ্য জানানো হয়। এতে শুক্রবার সকাল ৮টা থেকে শনিবার সকাল ৮টা পর্যন্ত ডেঙ্গু পরিস্থিতির তথ্য তুলে ধরা হয়েছে। বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে বলা হয়, গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় ডেঙ্গুতে মারা যাওয়া ব্যক্তিদের মধ্যে চট্টগ্রাম বিভাগের দুজন রয়েছেন। এ ছাড়া ঢাকা দক্ষিণ সিটি করপোরেশন এলাকা, খুলনা বিভাগ ও ময়মনসিংহ বিভাগের একজন করে মারা গেছেন। মৃতদের মধ্যে দুজন পুরুষ ও তিনজন নারী। স্বাস্থ্য অধিদপ্তরের তথ্য অনুযায়ী, চলতি বছরের জানুয়ারি থেকে ২৪ অক্টোবর পর্যন্ত দেশে ডেঙ্গুতে আক্রান্ত হয়ে ৩৭৬ জনের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। এ সময়ে ডেঙ্গু নিয়ে হাসপাতালে ভর্তি হয়েছেন মোট ১ লাখ ২১ হাজার ৬৯৯ জন।
