Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has said that the impact of global price hike will also affect Bangladesh. He mentioned that the country's energy crisis has created a situation that is "like a cliff over a cliff".

Talking to reporters after the National Multi-Stakeholder Consultation Workshop held at the Planning Ministry in Agargaon in the capital, he said that the energy crisis is affecting not only electricity and gas, but the entire food and commodity supply system on Sunday (April 5). As a result, there is no doubt that prices will increase in the coming days.

The Finance Minister (FM) also said that this is not a problem of a single country. Oil prices have doubled in the United States, and have increased by about 25 percent in Sri Lanka. Prices have not been increased in Bangladesh yet, but it is not possible to say how long they can be maintained.

He warned that the government is trying to keep the pressure on the people low, but if government funds are damaged, the impact will ultimately be on the people. Therefore, a decision on this issue will be taken based on reality.

Regarding the LDC graduation, the Finance Minister said that the government is taking preparations step by step. Once all the work is completed, the country will be ready for graduation and then it will be presented to the General Assembly. However, that stage has not been reached yet.
