Forex reserves fall below $20bn
The country's gross foreign exchange reserves have fallen below $20 billion after the central bank cleared import bills worth $1.21billion through the Asian Clearing Union (ACU).
According to data from the Bangladesh Bank, the gross reserves stood at $19.45 billion as per the BPM-6 manual of the International Monetary Fund as of Tuesday.
The ACU is an arrangement for settling payments for intra-regional transactions among eight countries.
Earlier last month, the country's gross foreign exchange reserves fell below $21 billion.
