Former deputy police commissioner gets job back after 11 years
The Ministry of Home Affairs has revoked the dismissal order of former Deputy Police Commissioner (East) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Md Obaidur Rahman Khan after 11 years.
The order was issued through a notification signed by Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs Monjur Morshed Chowdhury on August 6.
The Ministry of Home Affairs published the notification on Monday, August 10.
The notification said the decision was taken following the judgement/order issued on January 12 in the case filed by Md Obaidur Rahman Khan before Administrative Tribunal-2.
The order stated that the punishment of dismissal from service imposed on Md Obaidur Rahman Khan through the Ministry of Home Affairs' memorandum dated October 4, 2015, is hereby revoked.
At the same time, it was decided that his dismissal period would be treated as duty period.
As a result, he will receive pension and all other financial and other benefits as per rules.
The Ministry of Home Affairs' order also stated that the decision will be effective immediately.
