The members of Border Guard Bangladesh have detained former land minister Narayan Chandra Chanda at the Maheshpur border in Jhenaidah. According to BGB headquarters, he was captured while allegedly attempting to flee into India on Sunday night. Narayan was elected a member of parliament for Khulna-5 (Dumuria-Fultola) constituency and appointed a cabinet minister in the January national elections.
