Four die of dengue, 1,631 hospitalised in 24 hours

Four more people died of dengue across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, while 1,631 patients were admitted to hospitals with the mosquito-borne disease.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the figures in a statement issued by its Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room on Saturday (October 10).

According to the DGHS, the latest deaths have raised the country's dengue death toll to 299 so far this year.

The number of patients hospitalised with dengue since January 1 has reached 97,082. A total of 91,007 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals this year, including 1,627 in the past 24 hours.

In 2025, Bangladesh recorded 1,02,861 dengue hospitalisations and 413 deaths. The country reported 1,01,214 hospitalisations and 575 deaths in 2024.

In 2023, a total of 3,21,179 dengue patients were hospitalised across the country, while 1,705 people died of the disease.
