Four more children die with measles symptoms, death toll reaches 835
The measles outbreak in the country remains alarming. Four more children have died with measles symptoms in the past 24 hours. With this, the total number of deaths from measles and its symptoms since March 15 this year has risen to 835.
The Directorate General of Health Services provided this information in its updated report published on Thursday .
According to the report, among the four children who died in the last 24 hours, two were from Dhaka division, and one each from Sylhet and Mymensingh divisions.
During the same period, 1,005 new children were infected with measles or its symptoms. Of them, 135 tested positive for measles. Since March 15, the total number of children infected with measles or its symptoms has reached 143,140.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services, a total of 110,182 children have been hospitalised with measles symptoms since March 15. Of them, 106,053 have recovered and returned home after treatment.
