Four more children die with measles symptoms in 24 hours, 773 infected

Four more children have died with measles symptoms across the country over the past 24 hours. During this period, 773 children were infected with measles or its symptoms.

The Directorate General of Health Services provided this information in its updated measles report on Saturday (July 18) afternoon.

The notification said four more children died with measles symptoms in the country over the past 24 hours. However, no child died from confirmed measles infection during this period.

With this, a total of 689 children have died with measles symptoms across the country since March 15. An additional 95 children have died after being infected with confirmed measles. In total, 784 children have died from measles and its symptoms during this period.

Additionally, 74 children were infected with confirmed measles in 24 hours, while the number of patients with measles symptoms stood at 699. During this time, 649 new children were admitted to hospitals, while 498 children were discharged.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services, the total number of suspected measles cases from March 15 to date is 116,710, while the number of confirmed measles cases is 14,318. Of these, a total of 99,249 patients have been hospitalised, of whom 95,529 have recovered and returned home.
