Four more die with measles symptoms, 776 infected

Four more people have died in the country over the past 24 hours with measles and measles-like symptoms, while 776 new cases were detected during the same period.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) released the regular measles update on Saturday, August 8.

According to the DGHS, the total number of deaths from measles and measles symptoms in the country this year has risen to 867. Of these, 98 have died from confirmed measles and 769 from measles symptoms.

In the last 24 hours, 99 new confirmed measles cases were detected. The total number of confirmed measles cases in the country so far this year stands at 17,040.

Additionally, 677 new suspected measles cases were reported in the same period, bringing the total suspected measles infections this year to 1,35,332.
