The government has reduced fuel oil prices by Tk 2 per litre for February, aligning domestic rates with the recent decline in the international market.

The Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources announced the revision on Saturday ( January 31), saying prices for diesel, petrol, octane and kerosene have been lowered under the automatic price adjustment mechanism.

Under the new rates, diesel will cost Tk 100 per litre, down from Tk 102, while octane has been reduced to Tk 120 from Tk 122. Petrol will now sell at Tk 116 per litre, down from Tk 118, and kerosene at Tk 112, down from Tk 114.

The ministry said the revised prices will take effect from February 1, in line with the monthly pricing formula.
