Gas supply to return to normal within a week: Rizvi

BNP Acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has expressed hope that gas supplies across the country will return to normal within a week.

He also described the ongoing electricity and energy situation as a global crisis.

Rizvi made the remarks while speaking to journalists after paying tribute at the graves of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman and former prime minister Khaleda Zia in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka, on Tuesday (1 September), marking the BNP’s 48th founding anniversary.

The BNP acting secretary general said the government is working to address the situation.

“The ongoing electricity and energy situation in the country is a global crisis. However, the government is not sitting idle,” Rizvi said.

He further said the situation would return to normal within the coming week.

Rizvi also said the BNP, as a political party, and the government are mutually supportive of each other.

He added that the government is carrying out its activities while facing various challenges and conspiracies.

He expressed confidence that all types of crises would be resolved soon.
