Gias Uddin Rimon appointed Special Assistant to the PM
The government has appointed Gias Uddin Rimon as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on a contractual basis with the status of secretary. He will serve in the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.
A notification in this regard was issued from the Ministry of Public Administration on Thursday.
The notification stated that Gias Uddin Rimon has been appointed to the post on the condition of severing professional ties with any other profession, business or government, semi-government, private institution or organisation.
According to the terms of the appointment, he will serve as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister from the date of joining for the Prime Minister's tenure or subject to the Prime Minister's satisfaction, whichever occurs earlier.
Gias Uddin Rimon began journalism while he was a student at Dhaka University. Later, he left journalism and joined the police.
In his new role, he will serve as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on matters related to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.
