Six members of parliament, including GK Gaus, have been appointed as whips of the Bangladesh National Parliament. The Bangladesh Parliament Secretariat issued a notification regarding this on Monday, March 2. The notification stated that in accordance with Article 3(1) of the Bangladesh Whip Ordinance, 1972, the president has appointed the following members of parliament as whips of the National Parliament. The newly appointed whips are—Md GK Gaus (Habiganj-3), Rafiqul Islam (Khulna-3), Mia Nuruddin Ahmed Apu (Shariatpur-3), M Ruhul Quddus Talukdar Dulu (Natore-2), Md Akhtaruzzaman Mia (Dinajpur-4), and A B M Ashraf Uddin Nizam (Lakshmipur-4). According to the notification, the appointed whips will assume their duties with immediate effect.

জি কে গউছসহ ছয়জন সংসদ সদস্যকে বাংলাদেশ জাতীয় সংসদের হুইপ হিসেবে নিয়োগ দেওয়া হয়েছে। সোমবার (২ মার্চ) এ সংক্রান্ত প্রজ্ঞাপন জারি করেছে জাতীয় সংসদ সচিবালয়। প্রজ্ঞাপনে বলা হয়, বাংলাদেশ হুইপ অধ্যাদেশ, ১৯৭২-এর আর্টিকেল ৩(১) অনুযায়ী রাষ্ট্রপতি নিম্নবর্ণিত সংসদ-সদস্যদের জাতীয় সংসদের হুইপ হিসেবে নিয়োগ দিয়েছেন। নিয়োগপ্রাপ্ত হুইপরা হলেন— মো. জি কে গউছ (হবিগঞ্জ-৩), রফিকুল ইসলাম (খুলনা-৩), মিয়া নুরউদ্দিন আহমেদ অপু (শরীয়তপুর-৩), এম. রুহুল কুদ্দুস তালুকদার দুলু (নাটোর-২), মো. আখতারুজ্জামান মিয়া (দিনাজপুর-৪) ও এ বি এম আশরাফ উদ্দিন নিজাম (লক্ষ্মীপুর-৪)। প্রজ্ঞাপন অনুযায়ী, নিয়োগপ্রাপ্ত হুইপরা অবিলম্বে দায়িত্ব গ্রহণ করবেন।
