Golam Dastagir Gazi files bail petition in HC over 21 cases
Former Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi has filed a bail petition with the High Court in connection with 21 cases filed at various police stations in Narayanganj over casualties during the July uprising.
The petition is scheduled for hearing before the High Court bench of Justice KM Zahid Sarwar and Justice Sheikh Abu Taher on Sunday, September 6.
Following the fall of the Awami League government on August 5, 2024, Golam Dastagir Gazi was arrested by Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police from a relative's house in Shantinagar in the early hours of August 25. He was shown arrested in a case filed with Rupganj Police Station in Narayanganj.
He was later produced before the International Crimes Tribunal on charges of crimes against humanity. Additionally, several other cases, including corruption charges, have been filed against him.
