Gold price decreases again
Jewellers in the country have cut the price of gold by Tk2,520 per bhori (11.664 grams).
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) made this decision on Tuesday (November 12), due to a drop in the price of pure gold in the local market.
The revised prices will be effective from Wednesday (13 November), the association said in a press release.
Under the new rate, 22-carat gold will be priced at Tk136,189 per bhori, down from the previous rate of Tk138,708 per bhori. The price of 21-carat gold will be Tk129,995 per bhori, 18-carat gold will be Tk111,426 per bhori, and traditional gold will be priced at Tk91,411 per bhori.
On November 7, 2024, Bajus adjusted gold prices, lowering the cost of 22-carat gold by Tk3,453 per bhori, bringing it to Tk138,708. The prices of 21-carat gold, 18-carat gold, and traditional gold were set at Tk132,398, Tk113,491, and Tk93,160 per bhori, respectively. These new rates took effect from November 8, 2024.
In addition to gold, the price of silver has also been lowered. The cost of 22-carat silver per bhori has decreased by Tk46, now priced at Tk2,578 per bhori. The prices for 21-carat, 18-carat, and traditional silver are Tk2,449, Tk2,111, and Tk1,586 per bhori, respectively.
