Gold price drops by Tk6,590 per bhori
Gold prices in Bangladesh have fallen further, with 22-carat (per bhori, 11.664 grams) gold dropping by Tk 6,590 to Tk 234,855.
The price adjustment follows a decline in the local market for refined gold, according to the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS).
The new rates took effect Friday (March 27) from 10:00am.
The BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring approved the reduction during a meeting chaired by Dr. Dewan Aminul Islam Shahin, who later confirmed the changes in an official notice.
This marks the seventh consecutive price cut in recent weeks.
As per the new rates, 22-carat gold now down Tk 35,575 per bhori since the first reduction. Other revised rates include 21-carat gold at Tk 2,24,182 (down Tk 6,299), 18-carat gold at Tk 1,92,164 (down Tk 5,366), and traditional gold at Tk 1,56,473 (down Tk 4,432).
Despite the decline in gold prices, silver rates remain unchanged: 22-carat silver is Tk 5,365 per bhori, 21-carat at Tk 5,132, 18-carat at Tk 4,432, and traditional silver at Tk 3,324 per bhori.
