Jewellers in Bangladesh have raised the price of gold by Tk3,149 to Tk133,051 per bhori (11.664 grams), making a new record for the inflating price of the yellow metal in the market. The Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring of the Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) made the decision at a meeting on Saturday. The price of 22-carat gold is now Tk11,407 per gram, while it is Tk10,888 for 21-carat, read a press release signed by the committee chairman, MA Masudur Rahman. The price of 18-carat gold has been fixed at Tk9,333 a gram, while that of traditional gold is at Tk7,649 a gram. The new tariffs would come into effect on Sunday, the release added.

দেশের বাজারে আবারও বেড়েছে সোনার দাম। এ দফায় ভরিতে ৩ হাজার ১৪৯ টাকা বাড়িয়ে নতুন দাম নির্ধারণ করা হয়েছে ১ লাখ ৩৩ হাজার ৫৫১ টাকা। এই দাম দেশের ইতিহাসে সর্বোচ্চ। শনিবার (২১ সেপ্টেম্বর) বাংলাদেশ জুয়েলার্স অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের (বাজুস) মূল্য নির্ধারণ ও মূল্য পর্যবেক্ষণ স্থায়ী কমিটির চেয়ারম্যান মাসুদুর রহমানের সই করা এক সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এ তথ্য জানানো হয়েছে। বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে বলা হয়, স্থানীয় বাজারে তেজাবি স্বর্ণের (পিওর গোল্ড) মূল্য বেড়েছে। ফলে সার্বিক পরিস্থিতি বিবেচনায় স্বর্ণের নতুন দাম নির্ধারণ করা হয়েছে। রোববার (২২ সেপ্টেম্বর) থেকে নতুন এ দাম কার্যকর হবে। নতুন দাম অনুযায়ী, প্রতি ভরি (১১.৬৬৪ গ্রাম) ২২ ক্যারেটের স্বর্ণের দাম পড়বে ১ লাখ ৩৩ হাজার ৫১ টাকা। এছাড়া ২১ ক্যারেটের প্রতি ভরি ১ লাখ ২৬ হাজার ৯৯৮ টাকা, ১৮ ক্যারেটের প্রতি ভরি ১ লাখ ৮ হাজার ৮৬০ টাকা এবং সনাতন পদ্ধতির প্রতি ভরি স্বর্ণের দাম ৮৯ হাজার ২১৮ টাকা নির্ধারণ করা হয়েছে।
