Gono Odhikar Parishad chief Nur returns home
Gono Odhikar Parishad President and former DUCSU Vice-President Nurul Haque Nur has returned home after receiving medical treatment in Singapore. He arrived at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday (October 4) evening.
The party’s General Secretary Rashed Khan said Nur travelled to Singapore due to health complications and, following treatment, has now come back to the country. Central leaders of the party welcomed him at the airport.
On August 29, Nur sustained serious injuries after police baton-charged during a clash between leaders and activists of the Jatiya Party and Gono Odhikar Parishad in Bijoynagar, Dhaka. He suffered a head injury and a broken nose.
He was first taken to Islami Bank Hospital before being transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where he received treatment for about 18 days before returning home.
As further complications developed, a medical board advised advanced treatment abroad. Accordingly, on September 22 Nur flew to Singapore and underwent treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
