Gono Odhikar Parishad leader Rashed Khan joins BNP

Rashed Khan, secretary general of Gono Odhikar Parishad, officially joined the BNP on Saturday (December 27).

He was welcomed to the party by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed at a ceremony in this afternoon (December 27).

Party sources said the Jhenaidah-4 constituency has been allocated to Rashed Khan as part of seat-sharing arrangements with allied movements engaged in joint political campaigns.

Prior to joining BNP, Rashed Khan resigned from his position as Secretary General of Gono Odhikar Parishad.

In his resignation letter, he acknowledged his long involvement in politics and the 2018 quota reform movement, apologising for any unintended hurt caused by his actions or statements.

He also expressed personal goodwill toward the party and its members, emphasising continued fraternal relations despite leaving his former role.
