Government appoints 86 deputy attorneys general, 179 assistant attorneys general

The government has appointed 86 Deputy Attorneys General (DAGs) and 179 Assistant Attorneys General (AAGs) to strengthen the state's legal representation before the High Court and enhance the efficiency of government legal proceedings.

The appointments were announced on Thursday through separate notifications issued by the Solicitor Wing of the Law and Justice Division under the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, by order of the President.

According to the notifications, the newly appointed lawyers will represent the government before the Supreme Court and assist in handling various legal matters on behalf of the state. They will assume their responsibilities immediately upon joining.

Officials believe the appointments will significantly reinforce the Attorney General's Office, enabling it to handle important pending cases more effectively, provide legal opinions to the government, and improve the management of state legal affairs.

The two separate notifications also include the full list of the 86 Deputy Attorneys General and 179 Assistant Attorneys General appointed by the government.
