Sources in the BNP said the newly elected members of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad will take their oaths on Tuesday morning (February 17), administered by Chief Election Commissioner A M M Nasir Uddin.
The swearing-in of the new prime minister and cabinet will follow the same day.
A BNP spokesperson described February 17 as “a historic day for Bangladesh,” telling Indian media NDTV that the formation of the new government through a fair electoral process marks “the beginning of a new chapter in the country’s politics.”
