Amid a fuel shortage caused by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the government has issued new instructions for petrol and octane distribution at filling stations to ensure adequate fuel supply across the country.

Under the new directive, average fuel sales in divisional cities have been reduced from 25 per cent to 15 per cent.

The announcement came through a press release signed by Shahina Sultana, secretary of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC), on Wednesday (March 11).

The BPC said filling stations in divisional cities must follow the revised allocation chart to maintain consistent distribution.

The BPC has also urged depot managers, sales officers, and dealers/agents under its marketing companies to take necessary measures to implement the new directives effectively.
