The government has directed students receiving stipends under the Integrated Scholarship Programme (HSP) to complete mobile banking account verification using their guardians’ National Identity Card (NID) by June 20, warning that payments will be suspended if the process is not completed on time.

The instruction was issued on Wednesday (June 17) in an official notice from the Prime Minister’s Education Assistance Trust, which was circulated to all upazila and thana secondary education officers across the country.

According to the directive, students from Class VI to XII and equivalent levels enrolled in the stipend programme must ensure that their registered mobile financial service (MFS) accounts — including bKash, Rocket, Nagad, Upay, and MCash — are properly validated against their guardians’ NID information in the system.

Officials said any discrepancies in the registered data must be corrected at the institution level through the programme’s software system. The “mobile banking information update” option will remain active from Wednesday until June 20 to facilitate corrections.

The notice further states that the same NID used in the student’s stipend registration must also be linked to the mobile SIM and the MFS account used for receiving payments, ensuring consistency and preventing fraudulent transactions.

Authorities have also uploaded detailed guidelines for the verification process on the relevant official website.
